Apparently they were worn by people in the 70s and I would like to find out more about that. I have not managed to find much so far. Do any of you know more about these characters? I am most interested in the jacket type which I have seen a few of. I found a site which tells the story of an American who had a shop in Leicester Square during the 70s and the shop is now closed. I think this is the original site. All I know is that they were made by a company called Garment City who made all the British Laundry style jackets and offered them to the American market. I have a certain fascination with the jacket pictured above. It looks quite heavy but very strong. If any of you have any information on these jackets I would be very grateful. Friday, 28 November 2012 On eBay you will find this jacket, apart from a few customers' descriptions it looks pretty much the same. It is however listed in Brunswick Red rather than Brunswick Blue. I have done some research and discovered that the original customer had owned the jacket since 1955. He was Charles Brown and the jacket is genuine. I imagine he has not sold it in that time. According to the search engine Google it is genuine and I am pleased to own it. It is obviously genuine because it has the label in black on the front inside the pockets and on the back inside the pockets. The label is identical to a jacket I own. The back of the jacket does not seem to be genuine though I can't be 100% sure. I did not find anything on the jacket to indicate the material used. The collar does not seem to be genuine. I did not find any hand stitching in the button holes or around the top of the collar.
